Michael O’Grady, Ph.D. is a veteran health policy expert with 24 years working in Congress and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). He was the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the senior health analyst for the Senate Finance Committee, the Senate Joint Economic Committee, and three Congressionally mandated Medicare Commissions. In these positions, he shaped critical legislation, Federal policy and programs tackling some of the most complex and controversial health issues facing the country. He has a reputation for developing innovative, realistic solutions and guiding them through the complex political process. He is nationally known for his work on Medicare, Medicaid, and the uninsured. Today, Dr. O’Grady is the Director of O’Grady Health Policy LLC and a Senior Fellow at the University of Chicago’s National Opinion Research Corporation. Sharon Natanblut has more than 20 years experience in social marketing, policy and communications. As an Associate Commissioner for the FDA, she developed innovative public health programs and policies related to the Nutrition Facts food label, the MedWatch adverse drug reaction reporting system, and the agency’s historic efforts to regulate the tobacco industry. She later managed a $125 million national counter tobacco advertising campaign for a major Foundation. Prior to joining FDA, she was Vice President for Burson-Marsteller, a worldwide public affairs firm. For the last four years, she has consulted on public health issues for the government, Georgetown University’s Center for Alcohol Marketing and Youth, and others. She is a Principal of O’Grady Health Policy LLP. |
